Sr. HR Business Partner

The Sr. HR Business Partner works as a strategic partner and serves as a resource on all Human Resource-related matters. The Senior HR Business Partner formulates partnerships across the organization to understand and deliver value-add talent practices.

This individual assesses and anticipates HR-related needs and provides professional-level consulting and delivers core HR services that support the business unit in meeting its strategic initiatives through its people.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Proactively presents business solutions to leaders in functional areas, leveraging HR Centers of Excellence as needed. Builds and maintains strong working relationships with internal clients and management and provides support and trusted advice.

  • Supports enterprise culture, engagement initiatives, and goals by partnering with LOB leaders to build and maintain culture and engagement through initiatives, action planning, and coaching. Connects initiatives to the Member's experience. Advises leaders on people-related issues and challenges.

  • Partners in implementing organizational talent planning. Supports managers in the workforce planning process from job analysis to finalization of the job description.

  • Coordinates with HR Centers of Excellence to ensure alignment to enterprise guidance. Provides consulting and support on plan execution and change management.

  • Uses data to proactively identify opportunities for improvement. Analyses and compiles information and develops reports and recommendations for decision-making.

  • Effectively manages the talent activities for several partner groups.

  • Manages HR projects and programs. Implements change management techniques to encourage adoption and understanding of new programs or updates.

  • Investigates evaluates and makes recommendations regarding employee relations issues.

  • Connects DE&I initiatives to talent practices, supporting initiatives and programs of the organization, DE&I committee, and employee resource groups.

Minimum Qualifications:

Education: Bachelors' degree in Human Resources or closely related field of study, or an equivalent mix of related experience and training.
Licensure / Certifications: Industry HR certifications preferred (PHR, SPHR, SHRM-CP)
Experience: 5 or more years of progressive HR experience. Previous experience in employee relations and policy/compliance preferred. Previous experience in financial services preferred.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Knowledge of current human resources rules, regulations, laws, principles, practices, and policies related to administration of all aspects of human resources (i.e., Employee Relations, Staffing, Compensation, and Benefits).
  • Ability to provide strategic-level consulting to business leaders.
  • Ability to influence executives on key people-related needs or problems.
  • Skill in investigating complaints in compliance with EEOC guidelines.
  • Skill in conflict resolution/negotiating activities to resolve complaints and business issues.
  • Ability to understand and interpret current policies, practices, and procedures.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and effectively, both orally and in writing, at all levels within and outside the organization, and to establish rapport with people of diverse backgrounds and training.
  • Ability to organize and coordinate multiple tasks, differentiate among competing demands, and to work under time pressure to meet deadlines.
  • Ability to apply reasoning in conducting research and analysis of a variety of HR programs.
  • Ability to manage competing demands and accept constructive feedback while being extremely adaptable and flexible.
  • Excellent communication skills both verbally and in writing.
  • Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information appropriately.
  • Must have the ability to quickly learn systems, processes, and procedures.
  • Ability to effectively respond to and interact with all levels of organizational staff.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office and HRIS.
  • Must be flexible and innovative in a fast-paced, growth-oriented, and time-critical environment. Ability to navigate multiple, competing priorities.
  • Detail-oriented with good analytical and decision-making skills.
  • Ability to work independently and follow through on assignments to completion. Strong team-oriented.
  • Ability to design high-level project plans and execute on projects within deadlines.

Physical Demands and Work Environment:

While performing the essential duties of this position, an employee would frequently be required to stand, walk, and sit.
Specific vision abilities required by this position include close vision, distance vision, and the ability to adjust focus.
The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.

This position is classified as a Hybrid general role. Onsite work is on average 2 to 3 days per week based upon business needs.
