Overview **The hourly rate for this position is $ 27.76** Plus a 7% 2nd shift differential! Hours Monday - Friday 3pm to 11pm. General Dynamics Ordnance and Tactical Systems (GD-OTS), a premier provider of ordnance, weapons and tactical systems to the US Department of Defense and allied nations, is seeking a Multi-Axis Operator to join our Saco, ME team. We are about supporting the mission of the war-fighter. Our products can be found with every U.S. military branch and with allies around the world. Maintain set up and operates multi-axis (9 or more axis) computer numerically controlled (CNC) machine centers. Performs any combination of machining operations such as milling, turning, facing, boring, threading, drilling, reaming, contouring, 3D surfacing and profiling of metal castings, forgings, bar stock, etc. Requires an understanding and analysis of blueprints and process sheets to completely machine a part requiring the use of various types of machine tools. Follows established company directives, policies, military specifications, quality documents and manufacturing instructions. Major Position Responsibilities
Searches and loads machine program into the CNC computer. Maintains work shifts, fixture offsets and tool compensations as they relate to the workpiece and program interface. Make any mathematical calculations necessary to properly locate the various machining areas and hold the machining areas to proper tolerances.
