Summary of Job Duties:The Arkansas Soybean Breeding program develops and releases conventional and herbicide-resistant soybean cultivars tailored to the needs of Arkansas growers. Our activities include the development of high-yielding commodity and specialty soybean varieties, conducting research on genetic tolerance to yield-limiting biotic and abiotic stressors, improved seed composition, and novel breeding methodologies. In addition, we emphasize the mentoring and training of undergraduate and graduate students in the art and science of plant breeding. More information at https://aaes.uada.edu/soybean.

The Postdoctoral Researcher is expected to actively contribute to the core activities of the program, including but not limited to i) development and management of research proposal grants, ii) analysis of large phenotypic and genomic data to support breeding decisions such as population development and line advancements, characterization of the genetic architecture of traits of interest and discovery of novel genetic resources, and iii) mentoring of undergraduate and graduate students . The candidate will have the opportunity to participate in national and international conferences as well as workshops and trainings. Qualifications:

Applicants must have a Ph.D. in Plant Breeding and Genetics or a related discipline. Preferred qualifications include knowledge of data analytics and experience in soybean breeding.
