Summary of Job Duties:The ability to teach applied French horn in addition to trumpet is required and experience in teaching music theory, orchestration and arranging, or conducting is desirable. The candidate will be expected to be an active recruiter and must demonstrate excellent communication skills. The successful candidate will maintain a high level of scholarly-creative activity. Additional responsibilities may involve teaching Music Appreciation, coaching small ensembles, brass methods, and service on departmental committees as assigned by the Chair. Qualifications:

Master's degree in Trumpet/Upper Brass performance required, Doctorate in music preferred. The candidate must be an outstanding musician and teacher and must possess performance expertise in classical trumpet. We seek exceptional candidates with a strong commitment to undergraduate teaching excellence, mentoring, collaborative interdisciplinary teaching and service to the broader public.

Additional Information:

Completed doctorate in Music is necessary for appointment at the rank of Assistant Professor, tenure-track. Candidates with an earned Masters in Music will be appointed at the rank of instructor.
