Description
For more than six decades, Idaho National Laboratory scientists and engineers have helped solve some of the nation's most pressing energy, environment and national security challenges. The advancement of actinide chemistry and physics is a fundamental part of the INL mission. Part of the mission of INL's Glenn T. Seaborg Institute is to prepare the next generation of actinide scientists, with particular emphasis on advancing nuclear energy technologies, and help those early career researchers develop a potential long-term career. To support that effort, the Laboratory is offering a valuable opportunity for top early career Ph.D. researchers in actinide related fields. The Glenn T. Seaborg Distinguished Postdoctoral Research Associate program is designed to nurture early career scientists and engineers with strong interests in the actinides for their solid-state chemistry and physics, solution phase chemistry and physics, and forensics and standards. This highly competitive appointment will provide the candidate with outstanding opportunities focused on specific programmatic research topics in conjunction with a high degree of flexibility to further the candidate's personal research interests. The Glenn T. Seaborg Distinguished Postdoctoral Research Associate appointment provides up to two years of research support to the selected candidate with a possible one-year extension.
