University of Arkansas - Pulaski Technical College at North Little Rock is an integral part of the Arkansas Technical and Community College System maintained by the State of Arkansas. Summary of Job Duties:Performs the duties of an Instructor in the Automotive Repair Profession program of study at University of Arkansas - Pulaski Technical College.

Instructional duties include those regularly associated with instruction students.

Teaching assignments include classes in body and frame alignment, paint and refinishing.

Instruct 9-13 hours per semester, post roster certifications and grades in a timely manner, keep lab and office space organized, safe, and clean, collaborate with team for equipment and supply needs, and maintain ASE certifications and PD, attend required campus trainings, demonstrate excellent written and verbal communication and integrity.

Candidates must possess a thorough knowledge of the Automotive Repair teaching field, a commitment to student success, and excellent written and oral communication and interpersonal skills.

Core Competencies: Demonstrated competency in teaching through work experience, educational preparation, or continuing education with skills sufficient to select appropriate behaviors, values and attitudes within different cultures during interactions with others

Demonstrates ability or desire to work with diverse students and communities Qualifications:

A minimum of five (5) years of practical work experience in a commercial automotive service repair facility, plus specialized training or experience.

Specialized training may include, but is not limited to, licensed apprenticeship programs, community college degree programs, and/or other professionally certified or licensed training.

Certifications: Possession of all 8 Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) certifications, or a minimum of 6 ASEs with the commitment to complete the remaining certifications by the end of probation.

All instructors must hold the following ASE certifications prior to employment:

  • 1. G1 Maintenance & Light Repair and
  • 2. A6 Electrical/Electronic Systems

All instructors must hold the following ASE certifications prior to teaching engine performance courses:

  • 1. A8 Engine Performance
  • 2. L1 Advanced Engine Performance Specialist

Instructors teaching Hybrid/Electric vehicle diagnosis and repair must be certified in L3-Light Duty Hybrid/Electric Vehicles

Minimum Qualifications:

Must have ASE certifications in Structural, Non-Structural, and Painting and Refinishing.

At least 5 years practical work experience in the filed

Applicant must be able to lift 40lbs or more with ease.

Preferred qualifications

Associates Degree in Automotive plus 2 or more years' teaching/instructor/trainer experience.
