Summary of Job Duties:Responsible for the management and administration of men's and women's tennis programs. The position reports to the Director of Athletics. Qualifications:

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Provides leadership including recruitment, player development, and social development of student-athletes.
  • Manage the program budget.
  • Prepare and conduct practice sessions.
  • Oversee travel and scheduling.
  • Create fitness and conditioning programing.
  • Monitors academic progress toward degree of student-athletes in conjunction with the compliance office. Ability to guide athletes toward successful completion of an undergraduate degree while participating in intercollegiate athletics.

Other Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Other duties as assigned
  • Responsible for maintaining a positive work atmosphere by acting and communicating in a manner to foster teamwork.
  • Requires consistent on-time attendance.
  • Ability to act as a role model to athletes and to demonstrate professional decorum and serve as a positive ambassador of UAFS Athletics.

Education & Work Experience: Minimum qualifications include the following:

  • Bachelor's Degree
  • Verifiable experience coaching tennis

Other Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: To perform the job successfully, the following competencies are required for the essential functions of this position:

  • Knowledge of all aspects of the game of tennis.
  • Familiarity with university policies regarding athletics, Division II tennis programs, MIAA Conference rules, and NCAA legislation and regulations.
  • Knowledge of international student athlete recruitment processes.

Additional Information:

Working Relationships: Work in a dynamic team of diverse faculty, staff, and students in a fast paced, growth-oriented collegiate environment. Frequent contact required with key stakeholders, personnel from other agencies and institutions and the general public.

Special Job Dimensions:

Work performed primarily in an outdoor setting. Frequent travel and extended hours required. Coaches may be called upon to assist with fundraising for the athletic department and to provide staff support to the other sports programs during their respective seasons. Valid driver's license required.
