Methode Electronics, Inc. (NYSE: MEI) is seeking an Embedded Software Engineer 1 to join our Hetronic team in Oklahoma City, OK. You will assist more senior engineers with the design, development, and testing of embedded system software development.

We have designed and delivered over 500,000 wireless Radio Remote Control systems to over 3,000 customers during our 35+ years of operation. Our global network of trained and authorized re-sellers and service centers are available in over 50 countries to meet the immediate needs of our industrial equipment customers.

Responsibilities:

  • Apply hardware embedded design principles to complete design and failure analysis
  • Contribute to Software architecture, design strategy, and Software development of embedded systems
  • Provide input and direction for product specifications, automated test fixtures, and test software
  • Create functional models and prototypes to perform validation / testing through experimental methods
  • Participate on development team that can include Electrical Engineers, Mechanical Engineers, Software Engineers, Systems Engineers and Lab Technicians
  • Work is closely managed by more experienced engineers
  • Specify materials and production processes
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor degree in Electrical Engineering, Software Engineering, or Computer Science
  • 0 - 2+ years of related experience
  • Familiar with 8-bit and 16-bit microcontrollers; understanding the fundamentals of microcontrollers
  • Ability to travel
  • Proven ability to overcome obstacles and get results
  • Ability to occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds
