Summary:

Goldbelt Frontier LLC is seeking a dedicated and experienced Logistics Specialist to join our team on a contract basis. The Logistics Specialist will play a vital role in supporting the efficient and effective management of logistics operations, ensuring that the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) can fulfill its mission to enhance and protect the health and well-being of all Americans. This position requires a detail-oriented professional with strong organizational and communication skills and a logistics or supply chain management background.


Responsibilities

Essential Job Functions:

  • Logistics Management:
    • Coordinate and oversee logistics operations to support various HHS programs and initiatives.
    • Develop and implement logistics plans to ensure timely and efficient delivery of goods and services.
    • Manage the distribution, transportation, and storage of medical supplies, equipment, and other materials.
  • Inventory Control:
    • Monitor and maintain inventory levels to ensure adequate supply without overstocking.
    • Conduct regular inventory audits and reconcile discrepancies.
    • Use inventory management software to track and report inventory status.
  • Supply Chain Coordination:
    • Collaborate with suppliers, vendors, and service providers to ensure the smooth flow of materials.
    • Negotiate contracts and agreements with suppliers for the best terms and pricing.
    • Evaluate and select transportation and logistics providers based on cost, service quality, and reliability.
  • Compliance and Reporting:
    • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations related to logistics and transportation.
    • Prepare and maintain accurate records, reports, and documentation of logistics activities.
    • Provide regular updates and reports to HHS management on logistics operations and performance.
  • Process Improvement:
    • Identify and implement process improvements to enhance logistics efficiency and effectiveness.
    • Develop and update standard operating procedures (SOPs) for logistics operations.
    • Conduct training sessions for staff on logistics procedures and best practices.
  • Emergency Response:
    • Support logistics operations during emergencies and public health crises.
    • Coordinate the rapid deployment of resources and supplies to affected areas.
    • Participate in emergency preparedness planning and exercises.

Qualifications

Necessary Skills and Knowledge:

  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in logistics management software and Microsoft Office Suite.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field (relevant work experience may be considered a substitute for a degree).
  • Minimum three (3) years of experience in logistics, supply chain management, or a related field.
  • US citizen by birth or naturalization

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master's degree in relevant area of study.
  • Experience working with federal agencies or government contracting.
  • Certification in logistics or supply chain management (e.g., APICS, CLTD).

The salary range for this position is $57,000.00 - $93,000.00 annually.
