Job Summary: Leads the analysis and resolution of complex business problems using automated systems, specifically in the SAP Controlling (CO) module, as well as related Dassian Project Planning & Controls (PPC) functionality. Provides strategic technical expertise in identifying, evaluating, and developing systems and procedures that are cost-effective and meet organizational goals. Oversees system settings and configurations; plans and executes comprehensive unit, integration, and acceptance testing; creates detailed specifications for systems to meet business requirements. Designs and implements integrations between SAP and other business applications. Provides high-level consultation to users on process improvements and leads cross-functional teams to address critical business or systems issues. Directs and manages projects with significant business impact.

Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Demonstrates deep technical, configuration, and business area expertise in SAP Controlling (Cost Center Accounting; Product Cost Controlling, Profit Center Accounting, COPA and Project Systems), understanding integration with other SAP modules (Materials Management, Sales & Distribution, Production Planning).
  • Configures and deploys ERP applications and business processes, specifically in SAP FI-CO, Dassian PPC, and other business-related applications to support Cubic's government contract/project cost business functions.
  • Oversees FI-CO period close activities: cost allocations, WIP/RA calculation; settlements, variance calculation and performs FI-CO reconciliation.
  • Develops and oversees RICEF (Reports, Interfaces, Conversion, Enhancement and Forms) specifications to complete custom development.
  • Interfaces with high-level customers during design and deployment of business solutions. Manages solutions through deployment, training, and hand-off activities.
  • Translates complex user requests into application system solutions. Analyzes system user requirements to define and design system configuration, enhancements, and modifications.
  • Remains current with new technologies, especially within SAP, to align technologies with business direction.
  • Builds and maintains strong internal and external stakeholder relationships by aligning system solutions to evolving business requirements.
  • Leads critical thinking and decision-making processes with key constituents to determine best business practices.
  • Identifies problems and research alternatives through rigorous testing and consulting with peers.
  • Prepares and delivers presentations, gains consensus from clients and implementation teams, and implements solutions.
  • Designs test plans, executes test scenarios, validates test data, and documents test results.
  • Leads business process testing of the application prior to end-user acceptance testing.
  • Oversees end-user acceptance testing.
  • Leads project management and detailed analysis of business practices, processes, and scenarios. Redesigns procedures to align with best business practices in concert with SAP functionality.
  • Performs comprehensive project management functions, including coordinating, organizing, planning and scheduling, communicating, tracking accountability, ensuring documentation, monitoring and evaluating, problem-solving, and providing technical assistance.
  • Ensures projects are delivered on time and within budget.
  • Leads cross-functional teams to explore process improvement initiatives, measure results, and refine processes to achieve business objectives.
  • Supports and integrates non-SAP applications or systems as needed.
  • Maintains accuracy of the helpdesk database of reported problems and leads resolution efforts.
  • Works in multidisciplinary teams to define and design complex processes and procedures for the configuration, upgrade, and maintenance of SAP and related application systems.
  • Leads the creation and enforcement of IT software standards and procedures.

Minimum Job Requirements:

  • Four-year university degree or equivalent years of experience in lieu of a degree.
  • Eight (8)+ years of relevant business analyst work experience or equivalent post-secondary education.
  • Extensive experience using SAP Controlling (Cost Center Accounting; Product Cost Controlling, Profit Center Accounting, COPA, and Project Systems), understanding integration with other SAP modules (Materials Management, Sales & Distribution, Production Planning).
  • Experience in FI-CO period close activities: cost allocations, WIP/RA calculation; settlements, variance calculation, and FI-CO reconciliation.
  • In-depth understanding of business practices and significant experience developing business design documentation.
  • Experience with technologies directly related to the role, such as database management, report design, SQL, and financial system configuration, is a plus.
  • Experience with Concur, OpenText VIM, Vertex, and Credit Management functionality is a plus.
  • Strong project management experience is desired.
  • Exceptional communication skills with the ability to interact professionally with diverse groups, including senior managers and subject matter experts, to communicate new ideas/issues.
  • Highly detail-oriented, able to plan and work flexibly to meet deadlines, and possesses strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Cubic Pay Range:

$120,000 - $160,000* + benefits.

*Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from our lowest geographic market up to our highest geographic market.

The Cubic pay range for this job level is a general guideline only and not a guarantee of compensation or salary. Additional factors considered in extending an offer include (but are not limited to) responsibilities of the job, education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity, alignment with market data, applicable bargaining agreement (if any), or other law.
