Business Unit: Cubic Integrated Supply Chain Company Details: The New Product Introduction Group (within the Integrated Supply Chain Organization) serves as the focal point for internal stakeholders to obtain guidance and fulfill customer needs. The New Product Introduction Engineer will be responsible for the transition of new products and processes from engineering to manufacturing. This position will work closely with product engineering to define manufacturing requirements within the New Product Development process. This role is essential to the successful and timely launch of new products. This position works under limited supervision and direction. Incumbents of this position will exercise substantial decision-making authority.

  • Develop standard process for New Product Introduction; based on experience of industry best practices.
  • Engage with Manufacturing Engineers, Production Supervisors and operators to drive the successful transition of products from early development to product release.
  • Manage customer samples and product qualification builds; work with the operations team to provide special instructions as required.
  • Mobilize all required ISC resources as required to support individual and collective product requirements.
  • Provide authoritative guidance to the SIOP process for assigned products.
  • Ensure the manufacturing ramp up plans exist for assigned products, and that all stakeholders are aligned on outcomes. Topics include:
    • Capacity analysis
    • Capital / Tooling plans and kickoff
    • Required plant layout
    • Production routers
    • Work instructions
    • Quality plan (incoming and outgoing)
    • Labor and training requirements
    • Packaging and shipping process and equipment
  • Lead the LRiP process (limited production run process):
    • Ensure material availability (through incoming inspection)
    • Clear to Build analysis
    • LRiP performance evaluation (propose "pass" v "fail" outcomes)
    • Testing
    • Track and close LRiP follow up actions
    • Approve / disapprove LRiP
  • Drive improvement projects to maximize gross margin.
  • Participates in FMEA activities during introduction process.

Minimum Job Requirements:

  • Four-year college degree engineering or related field.
    • Mechanical, Industrial, or Manufacturing Engineering degrees preferred
    • Master's degree preferred
  • A minimum of 10 years' experience in a similar role
  • Advanced Powerpoint skills
  • Demonstrated leadership ability; especially indirect leadership of cross-functional teams
  • Strong written and oral communication skills for interface with all levels of management, both internally and externally
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills
  • Must be available for travel both domestic and internationally
