DEA's Puget Sound Region is hiring a Transportation Project Manager that can be located in our Olympia, Seattle, Tacoma or Bellevue offices. The successful candidate will be a highly motivated self-starter capable of delivering multidiscipline projects, performing engineering calculations and design, using specialized technical skills, experience and engineering judgment to transform concept designs into construction drawings and technical specifications. The work may include freeway, highway and roadway design, street improvements, utility plans, construction documents and all supporting documentation. Our ideal candidate would be a Project Manager proficient with horizontal and vertical alignment design, erosion and sediment control design, A.D.A. requirements, utility relocations, coordination with bridge engineers and other engineering and environmental disciplines, earthwork, quantity take-offs, specifications, and engineer's estimates. Stormwater/sanitary sewer/waterline design and traffic engineering design experience, including traffic signals and illumination, is a plus. Responsibilities for our Transportation Project Manager will include but are not limited to the following:
- Manage projects for local agencies and Washington State Department of Transportation (WSDOT).
- Provide excellence in project execution for on-time, on-budget and high-quality deliverables.
- Have working knowledge of MicroStation/InRoads, AutoCAD, Civil 3D and ability to participate in design and plan development.
- Provide design leadership and guidance to staff. Review engineering documents and deliverables for compliance with contractual requirements as part of DEA's Quality Management requirements.
- Provide support as necessary to ensure consistent, effective business development and project delivery.
- Partner with Group Leader to support employee development and career growth opportunities for project delivery staff.
- Help attract, develop, and retain key talent; assist Roads and Highways Group Leader with setting expectations; managing performance, rewarding top performance, and correcting poor performance.
- Adhere to firmwide tools, processes, and policies including project accounting (set up, budgeting, etc.), contracting, and quality requirements.
- Serve as a pursuit champion as appropriate.
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Civil/Structural Engineering
- 10+ years of applicable transportation design work
- 5+ years as Project Manager on local agency and DOT road and highway projects
- Professional Engineer
- Knowledgeable in drafting software application such as Microstation, AutoCAD and Civil 3D
- Ability to communicate and work in a team-oriented environment
Preferred Qualifications:
- Professional Engineer in the State of Washington
- Local WA agency or Washington Department of Transportation experience
