Responsibilities

JOB DESCRIPTION:

We are seeking a Software Engineer (Windows/Linux) in Rome, NY to be responsible for software development, deployment, testing, and patching to address interoperability issues of space information systems across multiple domains.

* Engineer, design, install, implement, and configure information management and database software as well as provide ongoing support for Phoenix Prime
* Collaborate with onsite and offsite team members within the company and outside groups
* Serve as the subject matter expert (SME) for Phoenix Prime
* Excellent knowledge base in PKI, X.509 Certificates, HTTP/S, JavaScript, SQL, PostgreSQL, FTP/S, SFTP
* Write and maintain custom plugins to increase system capacity for information ingestion, transformation, and dissemination
* Document software at user and API levels


Qualifications

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE:

* Bachelor's degree in a Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Physics, or Mathematics with BS 8-10, MS 6-8, PhD 3-5

8+ years of software development experience (14+ years without degree)
* 4+ years of Java EE development
* 3+ years of RESTful web services development
* 3+ years of JDBC development for SQL databases
* LDAP and PKI certificate management
* Development of XML document handling, transformation and management
* Must be CompTIA Security+ certified. Higher level DoD 8570 certifications are acceptable.
* Must possess and be able to maintain a TS/SCI security clearance

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

* Successful track record of proactive problem solving.
* Ability to work independently and cross-functionally in a team environment.
* Knowledge of programming for the AWS platform.
* Familiarity with the JavaScript and XACML languages.
* Document system configurations to include network topologies, information products, access controls, software versions, and system workflows.

This is the projected compensation range for this position. There are differentiating factors that can impact a final salary/hourly rate, including, but not limited to, Contract Wage Determination, relevant work experience, skills and competencies that align to the specified role, geographic location (For Remote Opportunities), education and certifications as well as Federal Government Contract Labor categories.
