Assistant Superintendent

Position Description:
The Assistant Superintendent's primary role is to help site supervise, oversee, plan and ensure the success of the project. The Assistant Superintendent continuously monitors and supervises the operations, workers and subcontractors, reporting the progress of the project to the Superintendent and BOND. With the Superintendent, has responsibility for the construction site and must successfully meet the time, quality and financial obligations of the job in a safe environment.

Salary range: $90,000 - $140,000

Core Responsibilities:



  • Deliver a quality project safely, on time, within budget and with focus on establishing positive relationships.
  • Manage subcontractors and vendors in a coordinated manner while developing long lasting relationships for the Company.
  • Maintain care and custody of the project site to assure safety is of the utmost priority.
  • Provide assistance with pre-job planning, strategizing and conceptual scheduling.
  • Provide training and mentorship to field personnel reflecting BOND's values.
  • Perform as Safety Monitor; ensure that all health and safety project plans are implemented.
  • Fully understand the scheduling process and related software; able to actively status the field progress and update schedule.
  • Track/record construction documents, punch lists and changes.
  • Mentor subordinates.
  • Promote a team atmosphere.
  • Assist in implementing BOND's QA/QC program on projects.



Qualifications:



  • BS or BA in engineering or related discipline. (A proven record of accomplishment of Construction and/or Management experience in the field may be substituted for degree.)
  • Knowledge of the Owner contracts, drawings and specifications, subcontract agreements, insurance risks. Focuses on mitigating risk for the Company.
  • Able to provide a project plan for use in the development of the overall project schedule.
  • Knowledge of self-performance activities including site work, concrete, underground utilities particular to gas and electric transmission, substations, and campus infrastructure. Understanding of the manpower requirements related to these activities.
  • Thorough knowledge of OSHA 1926 and related Corporate Safety Program
  • Thorough knowledge of confined space, hazmat, asbestos, lead paint and other hazard policies and procedures
  • Knowledge of equipment safety.
  • Assures that all required inspections of equipment onsite are completed.
  • Ability to provide coaching/mentoring/leadership to field supervisory staff.
  • Successfully completed OSHA 30-hour safety training.
  • Proficiency with computer programs necessary.

The employee is occasionally required to sit; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
