The estimated base salary range for this role is $120,000 to $135,000 per year.

BW Developeris an individual contributor responsible for providing technical expertise and participating in or overseeing a variety of analytical and technical assignments, problems diagnosis and solutions, documentation, implementation, administration, support and maintenance on a variety of software and application components in an information technology applications environment. The role is broadly split between providing day to day operational support for existing application services to users of those services and project-based work leading to the development and deployment of new application services and business process improvements. The successful analyst serves as a liaison between other technical staff, management, users and vendors regarding service requests, usage, standards, security and other technical issues and provides both on-site and remote access diagnoses and resolution of software, application and business process problems.

What You'll Do

  • Leads / Participates in the design, development and enhancement of business specific custom and standard applications.
  • Leads / Participates in requirements gathering in order to provide technical guidance on systems options and solutions.
  • Oversees promotion of configuration/development changes through environment (i.e., write functional specifications, perform and/or coordinate testing, obtain customer approvals and supporting documentation and support promotion of code/configuration to production) in order to meet the company's business objectives.
  • Manages / coordinates large, medium and small systems or business projects.
  • Researches, analyzes, develops and documents new processes and procedures to implement and update solutions to meet business needs.
  • Develops and manages relationships with vendors in support of staff augmentation and systems support in concert with Supplier Relationship Management (SRM) process.
  • Participates in the development, implementation and maintenance of best-practice standards, policies, procedures, and associated training plans to ensure optimal daily operations are maintained.
  • Provides integrated systems planning and recommends new or different technologies which will enhance current systems and support overall corporate and business goals.
  • Leads and directs multiple projects managing resources and monitoring progress.
  • Establishes/maintains lines of communication with stakeholders with a view to keeping all parties informed of incidents, problems and resolution.
  • Identifies opportunities to improve global standardization and organizational efficiencies.
  • Serves as a point of escalation for team members' issues requiring a higher degree of expertise or discretion to resolve and ensure timely resolution of issues by focusing on root cause analysis and implementing corrective action plans.
  • Assists with the development of IT budgets (expense and capital) and estimates.
  • Provides in-depth technical consultation to clients and IT management to ensure development of efficient application systems utilizing established standards, procedures, and methodologies.
  • Assists in the recruitment and selection of project resources as required.
  • Works collaboratively with management to identify and prioritize projects in the portfolio associated with the maintenance of existing systems, development and implementation of new systems, resolution of more complex problems and the evaluation of emergent technologies through developing business cases that include options, recommendation, cost/benefit and risk analysis,
  • Researches and evaluates new and/or alternative solutions and technologies to enhance operational effectiveness and reduce costs.
  • Assists in the creation and maintenance of multi-year functional roadmaps for assigned disciplines.
  • Contributes to the development of overall strategy, tactics, planning and execution of initiatives to support IT services.
  • Documents necessary technical design and analysis work, including project post mortem documentation and metric collection.
  • Maintains application documentation and process topology to ensure alignment between the business strategies and the technology roadmap.
  • Participates and leads training sessions and user group meetings related to analytics.

What will make you successful

  • Skilled BW4HANA developer with a strong understanding of data modeling, data extraction, reporting, and visualization.
  • Demonstrated configuration experience with B4HANA.
  • Strong knowledge of SAP technologies, including S/4HANA and SAP Analytics Cloud, experience with migration to Datasphere is advantageous.
  • Understanding of S/4HANA functional areas and standard BW content, including Sales and Distribution, Finance, Materials Management, Logistics and Supply chain.
  • Experience with data management and governance tools
  • Proven ability in ETL [Extract, Transform, Load] processes and tools
  • Understanding of ABAP and SQL.
  • Relevant BI experience (Tableau, Business Objects, Microsoft) is a plus.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Curiosity of new technologies and flexibility to adapt to new methodologies.
  • Outstanding verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to translate technical details in business language and relate technical concepts to a business impact.
  • Ability to build relationships and willingness to communicate with customer groups and collaborate with cross-functional teams.
  • Strong statistical, analytical and advanced problem solving skills with high attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Broad working knowledge of application support principles.
  • Ability to comprehend and share strategy, vision and direction and to embrace and facilitate change.
  • Results-driven, self-starter with the ability to manage and prioritize multiple tasks concurrently. Sets priorities, overcomes obstacles and opposition and uses organizational skills to get things done in a timely manner.
  • Demonstrated customer service orientation.
  • Proven teamwork skills and the ability to communicate with colleagues, customers and various levels within the organization.
  • Intellectual curiosity supported by strong listening and assessment skills; ability to identify root issues versus symptoms.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience in Computer Science, Engineering or a related field required.
  • 3+ years of technical analysis or process management.
  • Working knowledge and experience with Microsoft Office products.
  • Broad technical experience in application architecture preferred in a manufacturing environment.

What makes you stand out

  • Certification in either a process discipline (ITIL, PMI, Six Sigma) or technical discipline (SAP, Data Warehousing) is preferred.
