Senior Financial Analyst - ESG Reporting

Job Description Summary

The Senior Financial Analyst - ESG Reporting will be responsible for working within the company's ESG reporting and compliance activities. This role requires an in-depth understanding of global ESG standards, regulations, and best practices. The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive sustainability initiatives. This position will report to the Chief Accounting Officer and will have regular interaction with Corporate Finance, Sustainability, Facilities, HR, Legal and other teams.

Job Description

  • Responsible for participating in AAM's ESG reporting strategy and integrating ESG reporting into AAM's financial reporting structure.
  • Maintain a working knowledge of regulatory developments and global ESG frameworks, including industry trends and best practices related to ESG reporting.
  • Work to Ensure ESG reporting compliance and coordination across all AAM departments and locations.
  • Work closely with AAM's Sustainability department to ensure strategic alignment across a wide range of ESG projects and initiatives such as the annual Sustainability report, CSRD and CDP reporting.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to collect precise ESG data, develop project plans for ESG reporting readiness, identify gaps, and maintain communication with senior leadership and other stakeholders.
  • Design, implement and monitor an internal control framework over ESG data collection and reporting processes.
  • All other duties as assigned.

Required Skills and Education

  • 2-3 years of experience
  • Undergraduate degree in accounting, finance or related field of study is required.
  • MBA and/or CPA preferred.
  • Experience in accounting or finance, compliance and/or regulatory reporting; recent ESG experience preferred.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Prior experience with assessing, designing and implementing end-to-end processes, procedures and internal controls a plus.
  • Experience in automotive industry preferred.
  • Above average or advanced PC skills required (e.g., Microsoft Excel, Access, Word); Oracle ERP and/or Hyperion Financial Management experience preferred.
  • Outstanding interpersonal skills (i.e., for presentations, meeting facilitation, etc.)
  • Self-starter with ability to complete projects start-to-finish
