Minimum Education and Experience Requirements:

Education:

High school diploma or GED

AND

Experience:

  • 1-3 years lifeguard experience
  • Familiarity with the pool chemical testing process

Minimum Certifications, Registration or License Requirements:

  • Accredited Lifeguard certification
  • CPR/AED/First Aid certification

Job Summary

The Lifeguard position is responsible for ensuring pool safety by enforcing facility rules, being alert and focused on pool users, recognizing emergency situations, and providing life saving measures in case of emergency. This position also requires pool pH and chlorine testing amp; usage tracking daily. The goal of this position is to provide a safe, clean, and enjoyable environment for our students and members. Our facility is open 6am-9pm with lifeguard positions available in the morning, afternoon, and evening.

Essential Functions

  • Interacts with co-workers, visitors, and other staff consistent with the values of Jefferson.
  • Attentively scan amp; monitor the pool and sauna area while members are present
  • Know and enforce all pool and facility rules
  • Provide water rescues, appropriate life saving measures and general first aid assistance in emergency situations
  • Complete daily usage tracking sheet, temperature, pH, and chlorine testing amp; tracking sheets consistently
  • Complete pool opening and/or closing duties
  • Provide a safe, clean, welcoming environment to all students and members
  • Assure that the pool amp; pool area meet safety evaluation standards and safety audits
  • Maintain a good working relation with staff members, Maintenance personal, administrative personal, and pool patrons
