Outpatient Weight Management Dietitian (Hybrid remote / in-person)

Provides appropriate medical nutrition therapy for patients.Educates patients regarding their diet/nutrition plan.Serves as a nutrition resource to physicians and other health care team members.Participates in 1 on 1 counseling care, group educational classes, video recordings and other educational platforms as needed.

  • Acts as the patientrsquo;s primary advocate for all aspects of nutrition care. Assesses nutrition

needs for patients receiving outpatient care for obesity and metabolic diseases.

  • Develops, implements, and monitors the effectiveness and outcomes of nutrition interventions for patients based on departmental policies and procedures.

  • Provides nutrition education through both 1 on 1 counseling and group classes to patients being prescribed GLP-1 medications as well as other weight loss medications and possible history of bariatric surgery.

  • Plays a key role within the RD team to routinely update, innovate and create nutrition education to best suit patient population

  • Interacts with co-workers, visitors, and other staff consistently utilizing Jeffersonrsquo;s core values.

  • Communicates clearly and effectively in both written and verbal form to patients, public, support staff, physicians and other allied health team members.

  • General knowledge of nutrients analysis, electronic medical record, and spreadsheet software


EDUCATIONAL/TRAINING REQUIREMENTS: RD with bachelorrsquo;s degree in dietetics CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, AND REGISTRATION:

Registered and Licensed Dietitian

EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

Minimum of 1 year experience as a dietitian working outpatient with individuals and groups. Experience working with patients in the area of weight management.

Covid Vaccination is a requirement for employment at Jefferson for employees working at Jeffersonrsquo;s clinical entities or at the University.
