Safe Harbor Staff Facilitator (Casual) Jefferson Lansdale

Job Summary

Under the direction of the Ambulatory Nurse Manager with operational oversight by the Safe Harbor Program Coordinator, the Safe Harbor Staff Facilitator primary functions include but are not limited to planning and leading session activities/themes, conference with parents/guardians as necessary, supporting volunteers in their roles, and overseeing the successful operation of the program.

Essential Functions

bull; Interacts with co-workers, visitors, and other staff consistent with the values of Jefferson.

bull; Meets all standards of the Patient Satisfaction Initiative Criteria in order to make JHA the hospital of choice for Patients and Employees

bull; Acts as lead facilitator for Safe Harbor support groups to provide bereavement support to all participants.

bull; Performs administrative tasks including but not limited to welcoming new families, collecting paperwork, providing updates to volunteers and families, mentoring new volunteers, overseeing the post group meeting and updating the Program Coordinator and leadership as needed.

bull; Plan and structure the format for Safe Harbor Support Group Sessions to ensure grieving needs of participants are addressed.

bull; Follows up with families when additional resources are requested, or when volunteers have concerns about child/children in group.

bull; Creates specific activities for children, teen and caregiver groups allowing grief needs to be met.

bull; Work as integral part of Safe Harbor staff team, attend monthly staff meeting.

bull; Assist in planning and running Camp Charlie

bull; Performs other duties as assigned

Education:

Associates Degree in Social Work, counseling, psychology, education or human services related field required. Music therapy or expressive arts experience preferred.

AND

Experience:

Minimum two yearsrsquo; experience in group facilitation, bereavement or behavioral health support, volunteer program experience to include team development required. Music therapy and/or expressive arts experience preferred.

Minimum Certifications, Registration or License Requirements:

Valid Driverrsquo;s License. Current auto insurance with proof of coverage is required. Must possess a driving record free from major violations within the past five years, and maintain an acceptable driving record with no major violations in accordance with Motor Vehicle Regulations and Jefferson Health Abingtonrsquo;s auto insurance policy. Any and all major violations incurred must be immediately reported to the department director and/or the Human Resources Department.

Since this position will require the selected candidate to engage in regular contact with children in the form of care, guidance, supervision or training, you will be required to meet the requirements of the Child Protective Services Act, including the Pennsylvania State Police criminal background check, the Pennsylvania Department of Welfare child abuse criminal background clearance, and an FBI finger print based federal criminal records check. The selected candidate will not be allowed to commence working until all three (3) are completed satisfactorily.

Covid Vaccination is a requirement for employment at Jefferson for employees working at Jeffersonrsquo;s clinical entities or at the University. If you are not currently vaccinated you will be required to receive the vaccination prior to hire date if you are offered employment, unless you request and receive an approved medical or religious exemption from Jefferson.
