Billing Analyst

Primary Functions:

  • Provide professional and technical billing support to the Department of Anesthesiologyrsquo;s Pain Institute.
  • Analyzes all aspects of the Physician/Technical billings to ensure compliance and reimbursement maximization.
  • Responsibilities include coding encounters for diagnosis and CPT codes and ensuring that they are properly entered into the system.
  • Reviews physician and hospital billing practices against documentation in the medical record to ensure compliance with all federal, state and third party billing requirements, rules and regulations. Works denials on both physician and hospital accounts.
  • Submit authorizations for outpatient procedures and any follow up.
  • Answering incoming phone calls and scheduling office appointments and outpatient procedures for all office locations.
  • Working at the front desk as needed to register patients, verifying insurance, referral, and patient demographic information, collects co-pays, and is responsible for preparation of daily deposits and insurance billing.
  • Excellent prioritization, decision-making, multi-tasking skills are essential in this key position
  • High School Diploma (or equivalency)
  • Minimum of 2 years current physician billing/coding experience required
  • Associatersquo;s Degree preferred
  • Knowledge of medical terminology and billing codes required
  • IDX experience preferred
  • Typing, basic computer skills required
