Jefferson Einstein Hospital (formerly Einstein Medical Center Philadelphia) is a 548-bed tertiary-care teaching hospital located in North Philadelphia. The hospital has an accredited Level I Regional Resource Trauma Center and includes advanced treatment in heart and vascular care, stroke, radiation oncology, breast health, and more.   • Serve as a member of the surgical team by planning the perioperative care for surgical patients.
  • Participate in identification and resolution of nursing practice and unit problems.

This experienced Operating Room RN would oversee certain specialties.

The Resource Nurse would not be scheduled for a full day of cases. They would be ordering supplies, maintaining preferance cards, educating coworkers and nurses and pulling supplies for surgeries, etc.

This position is Monday-Friday 7:00am-3:30pm

The rate for this position would be higher then a regular staff RN rate.

Staff Nurses are responsible for the following:

  • Performs patient procedures within the nursing scope of practice.

  • Practices safe medication administration and assesses patient responses to medication.

  • Participates in reviewing and/or implementing clinical pathways and care coordination.

The Staff Nurse will provide professional nursing care to a group of patients within a specified time period and complete all required documentation.

Qualifications for this position include:

  • BSN Degree preferred

  • State Issued RN license

  • Basic Cardiac Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association

  • Bachelor#39;s degree in Nursing highly preferred
  • Current Pennsylvania RN license, active and in good standing is required. Currenly accepted Multi State License
  • BLS certification required
  • 2 years experience in the OR
  • Able to manage certain daily patient care activities in the perioperative setting required
  • Proficient in scrubbing and circulating

Primary Function: This position provides support for the OR staff and OR management team in a specific surgical specialty. Serves as a resource for protocols, education needs, materials management, and physician support in surgery. Functions with competence in all aspects of the Operating Room RN role, both as a scrub and circulating nurse. This position requires providing service to all age populations, neonatal through frail elderly, in a manner that demonstrates an understanding of the functional and developmental age of the individual served.

Since this position will require the selected candidate to engage in regular contact with children in the form of care, guidance, supervision or training, you will be required to meet the requirements of the Child Protective Services Act, including the Pennsylvania State Police criminal background check, the Pennsylvania Department of Welfare child abuse criminal background clearance, and an FBI finger print based federal criminal records check. The selected candidate will not be allowed to commence working until all three (3) are completed satisfactorily.
