Job Description:
General Description: Under direction, plans, organizes and manages the processing, storage and distribution of processed sterile supplies and equipment. Essential Responsibilities: Responsibilities listed in this section are core to the position. General Responsibilities:
Minimum Qualifications: Education: Bachelor's degree required. Graduation from an accredited program for Surgical Technicians preferred. Experience: Three (3) years hospital experience with 3 to 5 years progressive leadership experience required. License(s)/Certification(s)/Registration(s) Required: Certified Operating Room Technician or Technician certification from either the Certification Board for Sterile Processing and Distribution (CBSPD) or from the Healthcare Sterile Processing Association (HSPA) as a Certified Registered Central Service Technician (CRCST) required within 6 months of hire date. Certified Healthcare Leadership (HSPA) or Certified in Sterile Processing Management (CBSPD) certification required within 6 months of hire. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Knowledge of maintenance and sterilization of medical supplies and equipment. Knowledge of correct sanitation and hygiene. Knowledge of proper safety practices of steam and gas sterilization. Knowledge of simple record-keeping principles and practices. Skill in supervisory methods. Ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with other medical staff, peers and subordinates. Effective verbal and written communication. |
