Job Summary

Talent Acquisition & Management within the Division of Human Resources (DHR) may have a future opportunity for an awarded Federal Work Study student to join their team of professionals.

Duties include:

  • Provide service excellence to prospective and current employees by responding to all incoming calls and providing answers to basic and complex questions, related to pre-employment clearances, onboarding process and general appliant status.
  • Assist prospective employees in troubleshooting employment applications through the careers site using the University's Applicant Tracking System.
  • Assist with initiating pre-employment requirements for candidates.
  • Assist with drafting and posting job openings.
  • Assist with onboarding FWS and Temporary candidates by creating and posting official offer letters.
  • Assist with updating FWS job openings as needed.
  • Support staff with overall recruitment and onboarding process.
  • Support staff with events attended and sponsored by the Division.

  • Working towards a Human Resources degree or related field.
  • Has worked on-campus for at least one semester.
  • Intermediate level of Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Possess a high sense of responsibility and customer service skills.
  • Possess attention to detail.
  • Ability to work in a team setting.
  • Ability to take direction and work independently as needed.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality when dealing with highly sensitive information.
  • Knowledge of PeopleSoft and other software programs.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and concisely, verbally, and in writing.
  • Ability to solve problems independently.
  • Organizational and time-management skills.
Who May Apply

  • Students enrolled at FIU, who have been awarded Federal Work Study (FWS) as part of their Financial Aid Award package.
  • Student must be enrolled with a minimum of six (6) credit hours in a course of study leading to a degree or a Financial Aid eligible certificate, during Fall, Spring, and Summer semesters.
  • Upon credits decreasing, award being canceled, or graduating, FWS employment must end.
Work Schedule

Hours will vary based on class schedule and needs of the department.
