Job Summary

Plans and implements a coordinated program of fundraising activities and serves as a frontline, external fundraiser whose primary responsibility is to identify, expand, diversify, and cultivate relationships with prospective and existing donors on behalf of the Moss School of Construction Management. Directs and coordinates fundraising efforts for the Moss School of Construction Management and coordinates institution-wide fundraising efforts within the university.

  • Collaborates with the unit head, develops, plans, and implements strategies to secure gift funding from individuals, corporations, and foundations, supporting the fundraising priorities of CEC and the Moss School of Construction Management.
  • Works closely with other development and alumni relations teams. Attends all required development meetings. Implements fundraising policies and procedures for the department/college.
  • Initiates, plans, and coordinates donor cultivation, proposal development, and solicitation of major and principal gifts and grants focused on the unit. Develops and implements strategies to secure philanthropic support.
  • Meets annual goals for personal contacts and fundraising as set by the Moss Department of Construction Management and the Advancement supervisor. Regularly monitors and reports progress towards revenue goals to Advancement and the College. Documents contacts and prospect moves, tracking progress using Raiser's Edge and adhering to established guidelines and protocols.
  • Participates in university-wide prospect management, cultivation, and stewardship of donors and prospects, following University Advancement RPM guidelines and protocols. Develops and implements a strategic work plan focusing on the internal and external objectives of University Advancement and CEC.
  • Organizes, promotes, and maintains collaborative working relationships with key faculty, leadership, staff, and volunteers to support FIU. Collaborates with development specialists in various areas, other college development officers, deans, directors, and the FIU Foundation.
  • Drafts, designs, and prepares solicitation proposals and personalized materials for donor recognition and stewardship, including gift acknowledgment. Collaborates with Donor Relations, Stewardship, and Editorial Services as appropriate.
  • Manages a portfolio of prospective donors and foundations. Monitors progress towards achieving revenue goals for CEC. Identifies, expands, diversifies, and cultivates relationships with prospective and existing donors to successfully close gifts and further develop the relationship with CEC.
  • Develops and/or implements a strategically planned travel schedule to meet with prospects and donors, aligned with strategies and outcomes, in consultation with Advancement and the College.
  • Attends all development meetings as required.
Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's degree and six (6) years of fundraising experience. Must have supervisory/management experience.

Desired Qualifications

A demonstrated career track record in identifying, cultivating, soliciting, and closing five and six-figure gifts.
A minimum of five years of successful fundraising experience.
