The Steven J. Green School of International and Public Affairs, a full member of the Association of Professional Schools of International Affairs (APSIA), is seeking applicants for an open-rank professor position. The position will be housed in the Department of Criminology and Criminal Justice and will have an appointment at the Jack D. Gordon Institute for Public Policy. The start date is August 2025. A Ph.D. is required, although exceptional ABD candidates will also be considered. Applicants are expected to have a strong publication record and the potential for securing external funding in cybersecurity and/or artificial intelligence (AI). The job responsibilities include engaging in cybersecurity and/or AI research, writing grant proposals, teaching a 2/2 load, and mentoring and supervising doctoral students. Funding is available for a reduced teaching load (1/1) for four years and possible renewal depending on additional funding. Summer funding and a research stipend are also negotiable. Salary is nationally competitive and commensurate with experience.
The Department of Criminology and Criminal Justice currently has 16 full-time faculty members, enrolls about 2,000 majors, and offers Bachelor of Science degrees in Crime Science and Criminal Justice, a Master of Science degree in Criminal Justice, and a Doctor of Philosophy degree in International Crime and Justice. The Jack D. Gordon Institute for Public Policy manages multiple large research grants, including two active National Institute of Justice-funded projects. Maintaining an active research agenda and engaging students in funded research are important priorities.
