Job Summary

Provides leadership and support for the administrative operations within the Residential Experience unit. This position will direct a broad spectrum of administrative and organizational functions, and performs all necessary functions related to the collection, interpretation, and use of institutional data for reporting, planning, assessment, and decision making. Additionally, this position assists in the formulation of methods and procedures and enforces already established standards through standard operational procedures development and uses independent judgment within established parameters and refers to supervisor regarding all matters not covered by parameters. The Manager for Administrative Operations must have the capacity to help envision and develop new processes and procedures, coordinate new assessment initiatives, and establish and foster information sharing strategies.

  • Responsible for developing, maintaining, disseminating, and enforcing policies, procedures, and guidelines for Residential Experience Operations in addition to maintaining the areas operational calendar.
  • Interprets and ensures compliance with departmental and University policies, guidelines, and other relevant regulations.
  • Develops and maintains procedural manuals for all automated and manual housing residential experience processes, procedures, and functions.
  • Gathers information, analyze data, and compile reports to support or inform management decisions and department goals; including but not limited to satisfaction, effectiveness, and housing management system use for the areas of responsibility creation of visual representations of data while assisting heavily in reporting and presentation of findings to Residential Experience team, and Housing & Residential Experience leadership team.
  • Assists with management and preparation for semesterly Move-In/Out with internal units.
  • Manages department initiatives or collateral assignments. Collaborates with team members and community partners to gather feedback, provide cross-support to initiatives, and implement community-wide programs.
  • Manages all Residential Experience employee selection processes and regularly communicates with Housing & Residential Experience Human Resources on those processes.
  • Directs front desk management across campus and meets monthly with Residential Experience Coordinators/Assistant Residential Experience Coordinators about desk operations within their respective buildings.
  • Represents Residential Experience on departmental committees and work groups.
  • Builds and maintains positive professional relationships across the department and campus.
  • Supports the execution, successful implementation, assessment, and marketing of residential experience outcomes.
  • Manages assigned programmatic budget.
  • Supervises, trains, and evaluates Graduate Assistants and Desk Operations Leads.
  • Responds to emergency and crisis situations and serves in the on-call duty rotation on evenings, weekends, and holidays, as needed. Immediately notifies Housing & Residential Experience leadership of all emergencies and unusual occurrences. Serve as a resource and make referrals for residents and staff experiencing personal challenges and crises.
  • Performs essential duties in any emergencies such as hurricanes, public health emergencies, and/or any other university emergency closing. The employee is expected to be available to report to work as needed during university emergency closing with appropriate notification of a department administrator.
  • Serves as a University card user for departmental transactions. Adheres to University credit card policies and procedures.
  • This position will be included in the On Call rotation.
Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in business or related field and four (4) years related business or administrative experience, or Master's degree in business or related field and two (2) years related business or administrative experience.

Desired Qualifications

  • Master's Degree in Student Affairs, Higher Education, Human Relations, or related field.
  • Experience and/or knowledge in learning theories, advising, and counseling techniques, along with knowledge of student development theories and practice.
  • Strong project management skills and experience. Ability to manage multiple projects.
