Since its inception in 1905, the Carnegie Mellon Department of Chemical Engineering (ChemE) has been on the leading edge of research and innovation in chemical engineering. Today, this is truer than ever. With research thrusts across fields such as health and medicine, biofuels, air quality and more, CMU chemical engineering students are paving the way to healthier, cleaner, more efficient future for all.

ChemE is seeking a Postdoctoral Associate to join the team! In this role, the Postdoctoral Associate will be growing induced pluripotent stem cells and determining the effect of growth conditions and environmental stressors on function, as well as developing and testing reporter assays. In addition, you will be involved in a larger collaborative project so good communication and reporting experiences will be developed.

Core Responsibilities:

  • Plan, coordinate, and distribute information for meetings, conferences and publications and conduct occasional meeting with project sponsor personnel.
  • Document research results for use in project sponsor status reports and publications and assist in the search and application for supplemental and/or ongoing funding for current and future research projects, travel grants and/or foundation awards.
  • Research, analyze and model current and projected data.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • PhD in Bioengineering or related fields required.
  • Experience in induced pluripotent stem cells and/or protein engineering desired.
  • Strong collaborative skills needed.
