Introduction

As a Cloud Architect, you will use cloud and technical architecture expertise to help global brands and federal agencies solve challenging problems through innovative technology solutions. What You'll Be Doing

  • Design and implement cloud architecture solutions that meet the organization's needs for scalability, reliability, and security.

  • Develop and document cloud strategies, including cloud adoption plans, cloud application design, and cloud management and monitoring.

  • Manage and maintain cloud infrastructure, ensuring it meets performance, security, and compliance requirements.

  • Oversee cloud migration initiatives, including planning, execution, and validation.

  • Proven experience managing large-scale, data-intensive AWS or Azure environments for Federal customers.

  • Demonstrated knowledge of big data (ex: Snowflake) and data processing (ex: Databricks) integrations with Cloud platforms.

  • Implement and manage cloud security measures to protect sensitive data and ensure compliance with relevant regulations and standards.

  • Conduct regular security assessments and audits of cloud infrastructure.

  • Proven understanding of the NIST 800-53 controls for FedRAMP systems.

  • Collaborate with IT staff, data analysts, and other stakeholders to understand requirements and provide cloud-based solutions.

  • Provide technical guidance and support for cloud-related issues and projects.

  • Monitor and optimize cloud performance, including resource allocation, cost management, and system performance tuning.

  • Implement and manage cloud monitoring tools to ensure optimal performance and availability.

Location and Travel Requirements

This is a remote position reporting to the Washington D.C. office as needed.

Security Clearance and Citizenship Requirements

Must be able to obtain and/or maintain Public Trust Clearance.

Required For This Opportunity

  • Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in IT, with at least 3 years focused on cloud architecture and cloud-based solutions.

  • Proven experience with cloud platforms such as AWS and Azure.

  • Experience with cloud migration projects and cloud infrastructure management.

  • Experience with DevOps practices and tools.

  • Knowledge of scripting languages (e.g., Python, PowerShell) for automation.

  • Certification in relevant cloud technologies (e.g., AWS Certified Solutions Architect, Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert).

Nice to Have Skills

  • Proficiency in cloud architecture design and implementation.

  • Strong understanding of cloud security principles and best practices.

  • Familiarity with infrastructure as code (IaC) tools such as Terraform or AWS CloudFormation.

  • Experience with containerization and orchestration technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes).
