Civil Engineering/Surveyor Technician

Mead & Hunt, a nationally recognized professional services consulting firm, has an exciting opportunity for a civil engineering/surveyor technician to join our municipal services team. Responsibilities include:

  • Completing topographic surveys and construction staking
  • Assisting with construction administration tasks including working in the field at project sites
  • Analyzing and preparing engineering reports, specifications, construction cost estimates, and plans for various municipal and private development design projects
  • Performing drafting tasks in AutoCAD and Civil3D to generate plan sheets
  • Some travel and a valid driver's license will be required

The successful candidate must have an associate degree (or higher) in civil engineering technology or related field, or within two months of hire. If no degree, at least two years of relevant CAD work experience.

The ideal candidate will have any/all of the following:

  • Experience with field survey and construction staking using GPS and robotic total stations
  • AutoCAD and Civil 3D software experience
  • Construction field experience (knowledge of site grading, utilities, drainage, erosion control, paving, and materials testing)
  • Civil/municipal design coursework
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Project, Excel, and Word
  • Microsoft Office

The ideal candidate will have 24+ months of experience.
