Job Description

The role of the Inside Sales Engineer is to assist sales team in reaching or exceed targeted sales growth levels to Industrial Refrigeration (IR) contractors and OEM's. The scope of responsibility will be in the area of providing sales quotations and handling technical questions related to the quotations for Power Panels, Distributed Control Panels, and Programmable Logic Control (PLC) based supervisory control systems. Communication with stakeholders outside of the organization will be to Sales Managers, External Sales Representatives, Refrigeration Contractors, End Users, and Vendors.

Job Responsibilities

Responsibilities for this position include but are not limited to the following.



  • Prepare quotations for Power Panels, Distributed Control Systems, PLC Control Systems for Industrial Refrigeration Applications
  • Support continuous improvement in the quotation preparation process
  • Provide internal support for Order Processing in an Engineer-To-Order environment
  • Coordinate resolution for technical/commercial issues with customers
  • Develop and maintain relationship with key stakeholders
  • Help sales team in identifying customer needs and translating this into business
  • Support new opportunities which are identified by the sales team
  • Encourage the use of Danfoss products in sales quotations for customers
  • Provide input to R&D for upcoming new product platforms, or for product updates
  • Assist in the local resolution of quality related claims by engaging the Quality Technician or other staff members of Engineering
  • Prepare/conduct presentations for internal training, or for customer meetings
  • Visit contractors or OEM's occasionally with Sales team to secure business and/or for customer training
  • Demonstrate functional and productive CRM behavior in opportunity pipeline and contact management
  • Grow business potential through networking internally within Danfoss
  • Gain market intelligence (market situation/competition)
  • Participate in local industry associations such as RETA to increase knowledge and improve visibility of Danfoss

The ideal candidate possesses these skills.



  • Bachelor's degree required, preferably in Electrical Engineering
  • Instrumentation & Controls/Sensors, and associated signals (4-20mA/0-10V, etc.).
  • Control voltage circuits: 24V-120V.
  • 3-phase power. Low to medium voltage and associated components; Reactors/Drives/Soft starters/Transformers, etc.
  • Familiarity with Power Panel components
  • Basic working knowledge of Industrial Refrigeration Systems and Equipment
  • Ability to read and interpret piping & instrumentation diagrams, and electrical schematics prepared in AutoCAD or similar software
  • 2-5 years industry related experience in technical sales or supporting sales
  • MS Office suite, Salesforce
  • Strong communication skills
  • A solid track record of performance
  • An ongoing desire to learn and seek out new information and technologies.
