Information Assurance Cyber Subject Matter Expert

Summary:

The DHA Hearing Center of Excellence (HCE) is seeking an experienced and knowledgeable Information Assurance Cyber Subject Matter Expert (SME) to provide expertise in the development, implementation, and management of cybersecurity and information assurance strategies. The successful candidate will play a critical role in ensuring the security and compliance of the HCE's information systems and data. This role requires a deep understanding of cybersecurity principles, risk management, and regulatory compliance within a healthcare environment.

Hybrid position. Will work one day a week on-site.

Essential Job Functions:

• Support the HCE cybersecurity division team for all system assigned.
• Lead the assessment and Authorization effort (ATO) for all systems.
• Categorized all information systems based on the sensitivity and criticality of information collected, stored, and transmitted.
• Developed all systems documentation including PTA/PIA, FIPS 199, Standard Operational Procedures, Business Impact Assessment, and all supporting documents and artifacts.
• Protected system authorization boundary and resources by implementing baseline controls, performing assessment, and getting system authorized and performing continuous monitoring of the application.

Necessary Skills and Knowledge:

• Strong knowledge of cybersecurity principles, risk management, and regulatory compliance.
• Proficiency in security technologies and tools, such as firewalls, intrusion detection systems, and encryption.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to convey complex technical information to non-technical audiences.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelors degree in Cyber security management and Computer Science.
• Certifications: Security Plus, Certified Information System Auditor, Risk Management Framework, eMASS, Authorization and Accreditation.
• At least 9 years of cyber security experience; held HCE positions in Information System Security Officer and Information Assurance.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Master's degree in a related field.
• Secret Security Clearance

The salary range for this position is $90,000.00 to $110,000.00 annually.
