Summary:

The Bureau of Indian Affairs (BIA) seeks a motivated and detail-oriented Research Assistant to provide contractor support for reviewing and updating national policies and procedures on environmental compliance and Tribal trust asset management. Given the evolving regulations, it is crucial to continuously evaluate and update these policies. The ideal candidate should have expertise in the National Environmental Policy Act, Tribal trust asset management regulations, and methodologies for policy development, stakeholder coordination, and implementation. They will assist with data collection, analysis, and documentation, contributing to the success of ongoing and future projects.


Responsibilities

Essential Job Functions:

  • Assists the team in the development of the Data-to-Action reports, supplemental data collection, survey administration, and creation of the database shell.
  • Performs analysis of requirements and support recommended development of strategies.
  • Assist in the development of strategic plans and concepts.
  • Coordinates and manages the preparation of analysis, evaluations, and recommendations for proper implementation of programs and systems specifications in the areas of ricks management; life- life cycle management; policy development, methodologies, and modeling in the functional areas being addressed.
  • Plans, schedules and conducts, through their analysis and those of others they coordinate with, throughout all phases of the project(s).

Qualifications

Necessary Skills and Knowledge:

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency in statistical analysis software.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong organizational and time management abilities.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience
  • At least four years or related experience.
  • Ability to successfully pass a background investigation.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • A Master's degree is a plus.

The salary range for this position is $65,000 to $85,000 per year.
