Position Summary Chord Energy is seeking a Completions Engineer responsible for duties related to completions operations, and budget planning necessary for the Operations department to be successful. The position is based in downtown Houston, TX and requires frequent travel to field locations. Hybrid work schedule is an option for remote work on Mondays and Fridays. Level and salary commensurate with experience. Essential Job Functions
  • Prepare procedures and AFEs for performing stimulation on new wells, re-stimulation onproducing wells, coil clean outs, and workovers.Track projects and perform post audit with emphasis on learning best practices.
  • Provide supervision and quality control on completions, coil tubing operations and workovers.
  • Daily coordination with field personnel.
  • Prepare inventory requirements for long lead items and issue bids for services, purchase orders, material transfers, to optimize spending and budget considerations.Interface with vendors and service providers to ensure equipment and services are provided in a timely manner.
  • Completions:
    • Work closely with the field and corporate teams to ensure safe and efficient operations
    • Work with field team to continue to drive operational improvements to both stimulation and cleanout operations
    • Work with Reservoir and Geology to identify key components for improving stimulationtreatments to achieve the right balance of cost and performance.
    • Interact with govt. regulatory officials to ensure proper approvals and permits.
    • Work with vendors for stimulation and cleanout operations, in order to drive best in class operations
  • Budget Planning:
    • Coordinate and track budgets for operated projects. Incorporate the technical aspects of development plans including identification of potential constraints on implementation and the impact on budget. Track actual spending to ensure that projects meet budget objectives.

  • 5 years of experience in Petroleum Engineering, with a focus in completions operations
  • Bachelor of Science Degree in Engineering
  • Willing to travel to field offices and locations
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced and fluid environment; flexible with the demands of a growing company
  • Ability to meet deadlines
  • Physical Requirements and Working Conditions: Must possess mobility to work in a standard office setting and to use standard office equipment, including a computer, stamina to maintain attention to detail despite interruptions, strength to lift and carry files weighing up to 10 pounds; vision to read printed materials and a computer screen, and hearing and speech to communicate in person and over the telephone

  • Bachelor's degree in Petroleum Engineering
  • Experience in Williston Basin
  • Extended reach experience with coil cleanouts
