For over 50 years, we have encouraged kids to make positive changes in their lives. We seek a Yacht Donation Facilitator who secures yacht donations to support our mission. This position also works closely with the yacht broker community across the United States and works with prospective donors. Position Summary

The Yacht Donation Facilitator I is responsible for securing and developing funding for AMIkids through the restoration and resale of donated marine vessels. Responsible for tracking, analyzing, expanding and managing donor and broker database. Also analyzing the condition of a wide variety of water crafts, generating cost estimates associated with restoration work.

Essential Job Duties


  • Manage the entire Yacht Donation process with brokers, donors and AMIkids Boatyard; develop and maintain relationships to execute donations of suitable vessels, execute the AMIkids Leasing Process or sale of vessels, receive and review written offer(s) in conjunction with AMIkids "Purchase and Sales Agreement", communicate and educate yacht donation process, AMIkids mission, IRS guidelines, etc. to all interested parties (brokers, donors, businesses, lessees, etc.),
  • Maintain current contact and moves-management relationship information within portfolio of assigned vessel donors (potential and current) and brokers in AMIkids database,
  • Using proven sales industry methodologies, conduct prospecting calls to develop relationships with the Yacht Brokerage Community to execute successful donations of suitable vessels,
  • Maintain compliance with IRS documentation and reporting regulatory requirements as it relates to monetary functions,
  • Establish prospecting goals on an annual basis in partnership with Supervisor,
  • In collaboration with nautical maintenance team, oversees any renovations, restorations or systems upgrades necessary to improve the vessel for re-sale or lease, including project status, progress, and expenses in accordance with Internal Revenue Service standards and directives,
  • Assist in establishing and meeting annual vessel donation, fundraising, and engagement goals,
  • Maintain individual donor files, prepare lease documents, and obtain information for the proper name of the entity on the lease, and process donations an correspondence,
  • Collaborate with marketing team to prepare approved media materials for distribution, and assemble media and donor kits for events and meetings,
  • Create (weekly, monthly and adhoc) reports needed to monitor and track progress using AMIkids database, when possible,
  • Conduct preliminary research on prospective vessel donor entities (corporations, corporate foundations, and individuals) for additional capacity and mission alignment.
  • Answer donor questions regarding tax credit programs,
  • Attend and maintain CPR and First Aid certification by nationally recognized organization,
  • May drive for other work-related tasks,
  • Assist with special projects and other duties as assigned.


Minimum Education, Training and Experience



  • High School Diploma or equivalent, Bachelor's Degree preferred,
  • Minimum of three (3) years' experience working with marine vessels and watercraft operation, restoration, and sales,
  • Prior experience in non-profit fundraising, donor cultivation and gift solicitation, Marketing, or Sales preferred
  • US Coast Guard License preferred
  • Intermediate experience with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, Power Point) and Database management; Raiser's Edge experience desirable.
