Position Announcement

The Department of Computing at Utah Tech University (UT) in St. George, Utah, invites applicants for a full-time professional-track Instructor of the Practice in Cybersecurity, starting January 1, 2025, or July 1, 2025. Responsibilities

  • Teach 30 credits of lecture and laboratory courses in cybersecurity each academic year.
  • Perform defined campus-wide duties including holding office hours, attending department, college, and division faculty meetings, and adhering to University policy and procedures.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • A bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity (or a related field) will be considered for this position. Master's degree in Cybersecurity or closely related field by Spring 2025 preferred.
  • Industry experience strongly preferred. Interest in Industrial Control Systems security preferred.
  • Prior teaching experience is a plus.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a commitment to collegiality and teamwork are desired.
  • An interest in active learning, experiential learning, and student engagement is also desirable.

Supplemental Information

POSITION DETAILS, COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS: Full-time (9-month) professional-track faculty position. Faculty service begins either January 1, 2025, or July 1, 2025. Annual salary is $68,000-$71,000. Salary depends on qualifications and experience, with additional compensation available for optional summer/overload teaching.
