The salary of the finalist selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to departmental budgets, qualifications, experience, education, licenses, specialty, and training. Position Summary The Clinical Coordinator is responsible for coordinating patient care within the Division of Nephrology, focusing on procedure-related care and recovery. This role involves direct patient care, procedural assistance, and administrative duties to ensure optimal patient outcomes and efficient operations. Responsibilities
- Provide high-quality care to patients requiring intravenous infusions and injections, including administering medications, monitoring patient responses, and ensuring the safe and effective delivery of treatments.
- Conduct initial and ongoing assessments of patients' conditions, document responses, and manage any adverse events.
- Provide specialized nursing care to patients undergoing renal (and bone) biopsy procedures, including preparation, assistance during the procedure, and post-procedure care. Ensure patient safety and comfort, manage complications, and educate patients and families about the procedure and aftercare.
- Perform peripheral IV insertion, lab drawing, vital sign monitoring, and peri-procedure care for biopsy patients. Conduct 24-hour blood pressure monitoring and assessments as per MD orders, and administer iohexol for GFR measurements.
- Maintain inventory of supplies needed for biopsies and clinical infusions.
- Schedule and manage patient appointments, obtain authorizations, and assist in growing the infusion program. Ensure adherence to infection control protocols and safety guidelines.
- Assist with clinical research infusions as per research protocols, including documentation, sampling, and other clinical activities for study participants. Perform additional responsibilities as needed.

Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent in education, training, and/or experience, plus three years of related experience
- Current NYS RN License (and maintenance)
- BLS and ACLS certification
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills
Other Requirements
- Participation in the medical surveillance program
- Contact with patients and/or human research subjects
- Potential bloodborne pathogen exposure
- Successful completion of applicable compliance and systems training requirements
