Sales Operations Manager

Your role and responsibilities

In this role, you will have the opportunity to support the assigned Sales organization and customers during the proposal process. Each day, you will serve as a key technical resource in the assigned area. You will also showcase your expertise by preparing technical descriptions of the products and technology, determining costs, and preparing final documentation.
This role is contributing to the Process Automation Energy Industries division.
You will be mainly accountable for:
*Offering technical advice and solutions on inquiries from customers/channels/Sales Specialists about ABB products/systems/applications.
*Performing analytic and diagnostic studies to determine the optimal technical solution to meet customer needs and address complex inquiries.
*Developing and maintaining new sales opportunities and resolving specific customer problems; and ensuring achievement of targets on orders, Net Price Variance (NPV), and Net Promoter Score (NPS).
*Ensuring the achievement of budget goals, including volume targets and profitable growth, across all assigned product groups and in the respective countries.

Qualifications for the role
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering preferred and
  • 5 more, with 10+ preferred, years of experience in automation and control of chemical/ oil & gas/utilities.
  • Knowledge in Automation solution for DCS.
  • Expert knowledge of communication protocols encountered in the automation space.
  • Knowledge of digital applications in industry.
  • Demonstratable effective communication with sales, sales management, product managers, business drivers, and customers to help drive a solution to a specific customer request.
  • Able to identify risks and propose mitigation plan
  • Some travel may be necessary (less than 20%).
  • Candidates must already have a work authorization that would permit them to work for ABB in the US.
