Manufacturing Unit Manager

Your role and responsibilities

In this role, you will have the opportunity to ensure efficient and cost-effective production results. Each day, you will be responsible to meet order demand, specifications, quality, and planning targets through the coordination and management of plant equipment, personnel, and production processes (quantity, quality, budgeted costs, and proper productivity level). You will also showcase your expertise by developing programs, projects, goals, and metrics to lead the organization to the highest level of operational performance while optimizing working capital throughout Operations.

This role is contributing to the Motion - NEMA Motors
You will be mainly accountable for:
*Budget: Participate in the annual production budget, oversees progress, and determines actions to cost issues, as necessary to manage operations within the budget and resources. Resource planning should be data driven and understanding cost of FTE(Full Time Equivalent) (ABB vs. Temp).
*Operational Performance: Develop strategy, projects, goals, and metrics to lead the direct labor operational performance and collaborate with staff and continuous improvement to integrate lean manufacturing principles into production processes.
*Develop and execute plans to reduce non-value added costs, and delight customers by delivering products on time while improving first pass yield and decreasing product field failure rates. And Health, Safety and Environmental (HSE): Ensure compliance with Group health, safety and environmental directives and that regulations are implemented, while monitoring and reporting progress and results.
*People leadership and development: Ensure (with HR(Human Resource) Manager support) that the area of responsibility is properly organized, staffed, skilled and directed and guide, motivate and develop direct and indirect subordinates within HR policies. Develop a cross trained workforce that remains flexible and agile to meet customer and plant needs.

Qualifications for the role
  • Bachelor's degree, Business Management preferred with minimum 5 to 10 years of experience
  • Candidates must already have a work authorization that would permit them to work for ABB in the US
