Field Service Manager

Your role and responsibilities

In this role, under the direction of LV Drives Service Manager the One Care Technical Support Specialist will act as the first line of contact for One Care service contract customers, will maintain records for One Care customer sites, and provide technical guidance for questions regarding ABB Low Voltage (LV) Variable Frequency Drives (VFD) at those sites. Additionally, they will assist with or help direct customer to the correct support resources for other ABB products and services.

You will be mainly accountable for:
*Provide technical assistance via phone for One Care customers regarding their ABB drive installations and enter One Care Customer cases into the Salesforce ticketing system.
*Keep updated site records regarding issues and maintenance activities at One Care cus-tomer sites and assure all drives are registered in Drives Install Base.
*Work actively with OPS team and Field Service Management to coordinate field service re-sources and coordinate with the ABB Technical support on warranty cases for One Care Customers.
*Provide labor authorization for independent service representatives known as the Drives Authorized Service Contractors (DASCs) to perform troubleshooting and repair work on drives at customer sites throughout North America.

Qualifications for the role
  • Bachelor's in electrical engineering, experience with LV Drives, knowledge of: power electronics, motors, transformers, switch gear, and computer network communication protocol and theory of operation preferred.
  • Associate's degree or equivalent from a two-year college or technical program and 4 years of experience in installing, testing, repairing or troubleshooting AC/DC drive systems and their associated controls.
  • Ability to interpret circuit diagrams, wiring diagrams, assembly drawings, technical manuals, and technical specifications.
  • Ability to travel up to 20% of the time.
  • This is a work from home position. Candidate must assure that adequate internet connectivity and cell phone reception is available.
  • Maintain a valid driver's license.
  • Willing to provide technical support during evenings and weekends on a rotating schedule.
  • Candidate must already have a work authorization that would permit them to work for ABB in the US.

While base salary is determined by things such as the successful applicant's qualifications and experience, this position is expected to pay between $49,400 and $91,600 annually.
