Position Overview
The HR Business Partner is responsible for developing and cultivating relationships within their business units to coach, support, influence, and enable team members and leaders to effectively deliver their strategic priorities. Provides proactive, high-quality, business focused support in all areas of HR, including life-cycle management of our talent strategy including in the areas of talent acquisition, talent management, employee relations, and organizational development.
- Contribute to the implementation of the HR strategy by building strong collaborative relationships with managers, becoming their trusted advisor, and aligning HR objectives with business strategies.
- Develops talent strategies to retain and attract top talent, leverage high-performers, and ensure a robust talent pipeline. Promotes employee and organizational development including leadership development, succession planning, performance management programs, skills gap analysis, and individual career development.
- Responsible for recruitment efforts for all exempt and non-exempt employees within the business unit, including posting, sourcing, screening, pre-employment testing, and on-boarding, while ensuring a positive candidate experience.
- Act as the first point of contact for employees and managers, covering all aspects of the employee lifecycle. Provides support on all HR activities and programs, including HRIS, benefits, training and development, leaves of absence, and employee relations.
- Effectively influences others through leadership, communication, data, and insights which result in clear understanding of opportunities and stakeholder alignment. Proactively engages and elevates opportunities and concerns when dealing with complex matters.
- Partners with the business to develop short and long-term action plans which support the organization's overall vision and strategies. Appropriately balances business needs and uses strategic thinking when developing alternatives.
- Drives effective resolution of employee relations and provides advice to managers on best practices in managing discipline, poor performance or absence cases, focusing on increasing management capability. Conducts thorough, effective investigations and advises on appropriate remediations, including terminations.
- Demonstrates critical thinking, problem solving, and judgement skills to solve complex issues; focuses on identifying root causes to create solutions in a timely and decisive manner; reconciles conflicting and/or incomplete information to develop solutions.
- Ensures compliance with all applicable Federal and State Laws including EEO, FMLA, HIPAA, ADA, and other employment related matters.
- Fosters a continuous improvement mindset to ensure HR Systems, policies, processes, and procedures meet the changing needs of the business

Qualifications
Skills & Experience
- Bachelor's degree in related field such as, Human Resources, Organizational Management, or Business, or other related field preferred, plus at least 6 years of related experience. Equivalent experience considered.
- Demonstrated experience in recruiting, including the utilization of ATS systems, job boards, and agency management.
- High attention to detail with the ability to maintain confidentiality
- Strong executive presence with a demonstrated ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing to gain alignment, support, and achieve desired results

- Ability to prepare routine correspondence and reports. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from employees, leaders, and other partners in the organization.
- Must have good working knowledge of Microsoft Office
- Must be technically competent, well organized, and confident
- This is a hybrid role that will support multiple facilities in the Chicago and Milwaukee area. 25% travel (mostly day trips) required.
