Overview

Purpose

The Fleet Business Development Manager is responsible for driving sales growth and expanding our market presence in the commercial fleet industry by promoting and selling custom upfit solutions for trucks and vans to FMCs, Dealerships in-conjunction with regional distributor partners and agencies.



Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities (Essential Job Functions)

Distributor + Upfitter Focus

    Establish and deepen relationships with top distributors stocking Weather Guard Truck and Van products , working alongside them to grow sales in these focus categories, specifically as it pertains to the upfitting of multiple vehicles/fleets
    • Responsible for establishing Annual Joint Business Planning
  • Responsible for the development and consistent maintenance of a Fleet Opportunity Pipeline as well as providing insights into the SIOP process (forecasting)
  • Implement strategies, communicate product knowledge and conduct training to maintain a pipeline focused on meeting or exceeding regional sales objectives for Weather Guard products and other KPIs nationally.

Fleet Focus

  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities within the commercial fleet market, targeting businesses that utilize trucks and vans for their operations with the goal of securing business opportunities to flow through our upfitter network.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with fleet managers, operations directors, and other key decision-makers to understand their upfitting needs and preferences.
  • Conduct thorough needs assessments and collaborate with clients to design and propose customized upfit solutions that enhance vehicle performance, safety, and functionality.
  • Work closely with internal teams, including engineering, production, and installation technicians, to ensure seamless execution and delivery of upfit projects.
  • Prepare and present persuasive sales proposals, outlining the benefits and value proposition of our custom upfit solutions to prospective clients.
  • Negotiate pricing, terms, and contracts with clients to secure profitable business agreements while maintaining high levels of customer satisfaction.
  • Stay abreast of industry trends, market dynamics, and competitor activities to identify new opportunities and maintain a competitive edge.
  • Meet or exceed sales targets and performance metrics, including revenue goals, conversion rates, and customer retention.


Qualifications

Experience & Education

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Engineering, or related field (preferred).
  • Proven track record of success in automotive fleet sales, with a focus on commercial truck and van upfits.
  • In-depth knowledge of commercial truck and van configurations, upfit options, and industry standards.
  • Strong communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport and trust with clients.
  • Strategic thinker with the ability to identify opportunities, solve problems, and develop innovative solutions.
  • Results-oriented mindset with a passion for exceeding targets and delivering exceptional customer service.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and CRM software.
