Description
The primary functions of this role are planning, coordinating, implementing, and monitoring health, safety and environmental policies and programs to analyze and control conditions contributing to occupational and environmental hazards. The EH&S Manager provides an interface with all departments as required for environmental, health, and safety policies, regulations, and programs. This position also involves very close liaison with, and support and coordination of, OSHA, EPA, and federal, state and local guidelines and requirements.
Education/Experience/Other Skills & Abilities: Bachelor's degree in occupational safety and health, environmental science, or related subject, minimum of 5 years of EH&S experience in a manufacturing environment required; experience in developing and administering Safety & Health programs; experience in managing worker's compensation claims, claims analysis, and cost reduction. Recent RCRA/DOT/HAZWOPER certification. Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work with employees and managers at all levels within the company; ability to effectively communicate with external auditors and government agencies; ability to prioritize and multitask; strong organizational skills and attention to detail; excellent skills in written and oral communication; ability to set/meet goals; initiative and problem-solving skills; demonstrated proficiency in standard business software packages (e.g., Microsoft Office).
