Program Manager, Workforce Development & Strategies - Days

The Program Manager is an 18-month grant funded position that will service one of the VCU Health System areas including: Upper Middle Peninsula/ Northern Neck Virginia and Southside Virginia with additional support including Central Virginia. The program managers will meet with Virginia community colleges and affiliated workforce development divisions, high schools and technical center partners to design workforce development operation plans.

Essential Job Statements

  • The Program manager will support "The Community Workforce Continuum model" project that is based on a "continuum" framework that incorporates programming and services for three job categories beginning with entry level positions, continuing with support of positions that require additional credentials, and ending with clinical positions that require an associate degree.

  • The program manager will be responsible for meeting with VCUHS human resources and department leaders, Virginia community colleges and affiliated workforce development divisions, high schools and technical center, and community partners, and developing partnerships to help students achieve their academic goals and provide entry level jobs for high school, community college, and certificate program graduates to enter the health workforce.

  • The program manager will engage with VCU Health System leaders and human resources to assess hiring trends and workforce needs.

  • The Program Manager will meet with Virginia Community Colleges and affiliated workforce development divisions, high school and technical centers, and community partners to discuss and develop and draft workforce development operational plans.

  • The program manager will collaborate with educational and community partners to develop and draft pipeline programs.

  • The program manager will assess and adjust the strategy to support changing community needs, and emerging opportunities in the healthcare workforce.

  • The program manager will be responsible for overseeing implemented programs.

Required Education:

Bachelor's degree in business, Human Resources, or a related field from an accredited program

Advanced Degree MBA or MHA

Minimum Qualifications

Years and Type of Required Experience

5 years of experience of project management, strategy and/ or workforce development

Experience with stakeholder management.

Demonstrated competency and operations experience in planning, developing, and or managing talent in support of career programs.

Demonstrated experience in developing relationships with educational institutions, community organizations and organization leaders.
