Job Title: Plant Electrician

Classification: Hourly

Shift: Days (Monday-Friday; 6AM-4PM)

Reports To: Lead Maintenance Technician

Department: Plant Administration

Summary of Job

Reporting to the Lead Maintenance Technician, the Electrician maintains new and existing electrical and electronic equipment within the plant to ensure that equipment and wiring are to code and optimal levels of quality and safety are met.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities



  • Troubleshoot and repair electrical /electronic problems on Pregis packaging lines, basic computer networks and accessories/peripheral systems including hardware and software.
  • Maintain excellent customer satisfaction by troubleshooting, repair and if necessary, escalation of ongoing technical issues in a timely manner.
  • Excellent customer relationship skills, utilizing electronic testing equipment, wiring diagrams and applications / tools available on the company's laptop including (Indra works, Siemens, Allen Bradly, and Exor).
  • Install new electrical and electronic equipment and electrical wiring according to the National Electrical Code and company electrical standards.
  • Maintain and repair electrical and electronic systems for Project facilities and equipment.
  • Escalate verbally and via email difficult to solve problems to the technical support group in a timely manner. When necessary, work with the installation team to install and commission new equipment.
  • Perform all work in compliance with applicable codes, standards, safety and environment regulations.
  • Responsible for station lockout/tagout procedures as mandated by company policy.
  • Product knowledge and the ability to communicate clearly verbally and written (internal and external).
  • Help to maintain parts inventories and order parts in emergency situation when required.
  • Complete all paperwork in a timely manner, including time sheets, escalation reports, service reports, online training courses as needed.
  • Regular attendance and timeliness are expected. There will be times that overtime, or weekend work will be critical functions of the job.

  • Exposure to moving equipment
  • Inside work
  • Heat may exceed 90 degrees Fahrenheit
  • Humidity may exceed 80%
  • Noise may exceed 85dB+
  • Personal Protective Equipment required

  • Frequent standing, stooping
  • Occasional lifting, pushing, pulling (up to 50 lbs.)
  • Occasional sitting
  • Occasional typing/keyboarding



Position Type



  • Full time
  • Shift work, 6a-6p, rotating 2-2-3 schedule
  • Overtime expected per business demand



Education and Experience



  • High School Diploma or equivalent (GED)
  • Minimum of an Associate's degree in Electrical Maintenance or Engineering or equivalent job experience
  • 5+ year's job related work experience in Electrical and Field Service
