Development Engineering Technician Exeter, New Hampshire, United States - ams-OSRAM USA Inc. What we expect

We are seeking a technician to join our specialized team responsible for qualifying and establishing new products and/or processes in production that are used for LED applications. This position will be in the Exeter, NH location, which is the center of excellence for ceramic, glass and composite components within ams-OSRAM. Those who join this operation will be involved with state-of-the-art materials and processes.

The successful candidate will join a skilled and motivated team in advancing current capabilities, introducing new processes, and implementing new technologies in production. There will be extensive interaction between research and development, engineering, plant management, and production employees on the shop floor for the industrialization and qualification of new products and new processes, and for ongoing improvement of the new manufacturing processes and their efficiency.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:

  • Assisting project leaders in advancing new products and/or processes projects towards qualification
  • Participating in cross-functional teams to move through the APQP and Gate Structures for qualification
  • Working with team members to conduct trials, prepare samples, assemble data
  • Organizing and reporting results of experiments, large-scale trials and DOE studies
  • Troubleshooting process and analysis equipment as needed
Who we are looking for
  • Associates degree in an Engineering field
  • 2+ years engineering experience in industry
  • Competence in use of MS applications including Excel, Word, PowerPoint
  • Understanding and experience in using core tools of 6-sigma to analyze data
  • Good organizational and communication skills, written and verbal
  • Ability to work as part of a team and/or independently as needed
  • Working in high-volume production environment
  • Handling of large numbers of parts in complex tests
  • Processing of ceramic, glass, or polymer materials, particularly for optical applications
