Job Summary

  • Executes the College's portion of the next comprehensive University campaign. Directs all campaign fundraising and alumni activities.
  • Works to individually cultivate existing and new donor (individual, corporate, and foundation) relationships with the intent of sustaining and increasing the relationship with the donor.
  • Develops, plans and implements strategies to secure philanthropic support from individuals, corporations and foundations in support of the College's campaign and fundraising priorities. Manages all fundraising activities as well as initiates, plans and coordinates the development of donor cultivation, proposals, solicitations and stewardship. Proactively manages a personal portfolio of up to 180 potential donors, prospects and suspects. Establishes and meets personal fundraising and development goals annually.
  • Serves as the primary liaison to the Dean's Council and provides guidance on the recruitment and engagement of key alumni and community leaders to College volunteer leadership positions in support of fundraising strategies. Supports Industry relations efforts.
  • Participates in university-wide prospect management, cultivation, and stewardship of donors and prospects. Develops and implements a strategic work plan that focuses on the internal and external objectives of University Advancement and the College of Business. Ensures the cooperative participation of the COB Office of Advancement team in the University prospect management and tracking system, as well as with University alumni relations.
  • Monitors progress towards achieving revenue goals. Reports regularly to the Assistant Vice President.
  • Attends all development meetings as required.
  • Works closely with the Assistant Vice President of Development, other development teams, and volunteers daily to develop and implement fundraising strategies in order to meet established goals and objectives. Facilitates productive relationships daily between donors and University administrators, faculty, and staff to ensure effectiveness of programs.
  • Manages a set portfolio of individual, corporate, and foundation prospects capable of making significant gifts in order to secure major gift commitments. Plans and implements programs that include measurable targets for each fiscal year (e.g., personal visits, stewardship activities, solicitations). Meets the annual goal for personal contacts as established by the Assistant Vice President for Development. Meets agreed-upon annual fundraising goal for the College as set jointly by the Assistant Vice President.
  • Documents contact and prospect moves, tracks progress using Raiser's Edge, and adheres to University Advancement prospect management guidelines and protocol. Produces and evaluates reports related to fundraising and development program activity and production for College and University leadership.
  • Develops and assists with the approval of fundraising publications and publicity materials for all fundraising programs in the College and recommends to the Dean for final approval. Utilizes media channels and emerging technologies effectively to fundraise for the College of Business.
  • Collaborates with the College's Human Resources Department and serves as point of contact for the recruitment, hiring, retention and performance of departmental faculty, staff, and other personnel.
  • Meets with and personally solicits support from previous and potential donors to the University on campus, nationally, internationally, and throughout the community.
  • Develops and/or implements a strategically planned travel schedule to meet with prospects and donors, aligned with strategies and outcomes, in consultation with the Assistant Vice President of Development.
  • Drafts, designs, and prepares personalized materials needed for the recognition and stewardship of donors, including gift acknowledgment. Collaborates with Donor Relations and Stewardship as appropriate.
  • Manages professional and/or support personnel, including setting performance objectives, ongoing performance measurement, and appraisal.
  • Drafts, designs, and prepares proposals needed for the solicitation of prospective donors. Collaborates with Editorial Services as appropriate.
Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's degree and ten (10) years of experience with six (6) years of experience in fundraising. Supervises/ manages subordinate staff.
