Job Description:

Baptist Health is seeking a Patient Engagement Pharmacist to join our team at our new Central Pharmacy in LaGrange, KY.
  • Performs all tasks associated with prescription order entry, adjudication, clinical review, drug regimen review, and patient outreach for centralized specialty and home delivery prescriptions.

  • Navigates the dispensing software to perform administrative activities including but not limited to processing prescriptions efficiently, coordinating delivery with patients and/or caregivers, and resolving clinical questions, and issues with claims in priority order.

  • Collaborates with onsite central pharmacy dispensing team to coordinate services and prescription fulfillment to ensure excellent patient service and timely medication shipping.

  • Coordinates care with providers for any prescription questions and/or clinical escalations.

  • Maintains accurate medication and allergy lists in the electronic medical record for patients receiving home delivery medications.

  • Serves as an expert in prescription processing workflow and a leader providing supervision and training to technicians and interns.

  • Resolves insurance problems and communicates anticipated prescription delays to patients in a timely manner.

  • Ensures compliance with Baptist Health policies, 340B program, accrediting body standards, FDA and manufacturer compliance, third party payers (including audits), and state and federal regulations.

  • Ensures adequate processing and documentation of controlled substance medications, specialty medications, REMS medications, and other medications in compliance with state and federal regulations and payer requirements.

  • Monitors drug shortages and implements solutions to avoid therapy and shipping delays.

  • Maintains proficiency with 340B program requirements and assists with 340B audits and reports.

  • Supports pharmacist and pharmacy technician onboarding activities and training program development.

  • Completes pharmacist training and competency assessments.

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Pharmacy or Doctorate of Pharmacy required.

  • Current Kentucky and Indiana Pharmacist License or eligible.

  • Previous call center pharmacy work experience preferred.
