Summary:

To provide diagnostic and treatment services to an assigned caseload of children adolescents and families and to establish links with other community resources.

Responsibilities:

Conduct an evaluation and document in the record as per departmental policies.

Complete all documentation as required and in the required time frame (progress notes treatment plans discharge summaries etc) as per departmental policies.

All charges must be submitted within 2 business days of the encounter.

Complete billing paperwork and authorizations on time to ensure reimbursement.

Achieve assigned productivity at the end of each fiscal year. Must maintain minimum hours per week of direct contact with individual client family group or collateral contacts as determined by Department policy.

Client contact will occur at outpatient office.

Attends and actively participates in 85% of all required meetings including Children's Outpatient Services group supervision meetings general staff meetings and clinical supervision as scheduled.

Attends meetings deemed mandatory by department manager supervisor or director.

Completes required trainings necessary to keep current in job.

Participates in consultation education and committees as required by department and program management. Includes but is not limited to residential staff school professionals and internal and external resources and providers.

Other duties and responsibilities as assigned or needed.

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:

A Master's Degree in social work mental health counseling or marriage and family therapy from an accredited school.

Rhode Island licensure as a clinical practitioner * LICSW required.

Professional experience working with children and families of 3 years.

Clinical / field experience in Human Service Agency and / or mental health setting.

JOB KNOWLEDGE SKILL AND ABILITY:

Knowledge and understanding of mental health issues child development and substance abuse.

Knowledge and ability to use different evidence-based treatment modalities as needed such as crisis intervention family therapy and group skills.

Knowledge of community agencies for successful referrals and treatment planning.

Ability to organize time and schedule.

Interpersonal skills developed to a level that will allow the smooth cooperation at all levels within the organization.

Ability to successfully complete all required training and certifications

Oral and written communication skills including speech grammar spelling and legibility are at sufficient level to ensure effective and appropriate communication.

Ability to add subtract multiply and divide in all unites of measure using whole numbers common fractions and decimals either manually or by use of a calculator.
