Department OverviewThe Palmetto 800 System is a Motorola built, owned and operated statewide public safety radio system. Two zone P25 technology with over 130 radio sites. The system provides radio service to over 800 Public Safety agencies with over 60,000 users. The Palmetto 800 team is responsible for the day to day operations of the system and ensuring maximum uptime and high level of customer service to our customers. Job Description
  • Monitors the day to day health and operations of the Palmetto 800 Statewide Radio system.
  • Manages the planning, and configuration, optimization, operations, and ongoing maintenance of the system.
  • Interfaces with customers to open service tickets and follows thorough until issues are resolved.
  • Oversees systems performance, the monitoring of equipment and the management of vendor relationships.
  • Monitor the system for alerts/alarms and respond accordingly
  • System dispatches as required
  • Process customer phone calls and emails
  • Coordinate system maintenance outages
  • Coordinate Repair/Parts deliveries
  • Network/System support
  • Situation Management on the on-call roster (usually for a week out of the month) While on call, be available after hours and throughout the weekend.
  • After hours on-call rotation

This position is located in Lexington, South Carolina

Basic Requirements
  • High School Diploma OR 1+ year of experience in Customer Service, Call Center, or Operations Support

  • Must be a U.S. citizen with ability to obtain necessary security clearance as required by government contract.
