Job Summary:

The Product Liability Administrator will focus on minimizing product liability processing costs within Broan North America, related to both the US and Canadian businesses. This includes evaluating expenses and preparing claim documentation. This position also provides assistance with product claim files, claim payment processing, recordkeeping, and management of data to support the department.

This role can be Hybrid or fully onsite in our Hartford, WI offices if desired.

Job Responsibilities:



  • Prepare regular reporting of liability claims for stakeholders to ensure proper actions are being taken to minimize loss.
  • Review and process legal and expert invoices via internal channels and through insurance claim services.
  • Manage legal record storage and retrieval to comply with document retention policies and legal requirements. Maintain records of received evidence for claims.
  • Review and route intercompany billing and wire requests for approval.
  • Facilitate communication of legal matters with large group of stakeholders to include; management, parent company, attorneys, insurance claim services, Third Party Administrators and suppliers.
  • Create new claim files to include research of public information sources, and ensure timely stakeholder communication.
  • Ensure payout of claim settlements and secure required closing documents. Process prefunding requests.
  • Maintain view of cost control opportunities through process and efficiency improvements
  • Participate in litigation and defense strategy discussions.
  • Maintain awareness of the travel and attendance schedule of department.
  • Serve as Notary Public to the organization.
  • Provide general support to the Product Safety department to ensure effective product liability defense.


Job Requirements:



  • High School Diploma (or equivalent) completed.
  • Legal certification encouraged.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience handling claims, legal documents and working with attorneys or other equivalent experience.
  • Specialized knowledge of insurance claims, lawsuits and legal documents typically gained through coursework or previous on the job experience.
  • Strong time management skills.
  • Demonstrate high degree of maintaining confidentiality, judgement and discretion.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills to interact at all levels of the organization.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and research skills.
  • High level of familiarity with common Personal Computer software. Specifically, but not limited to, Microsoft Office (including Outlook, Excel and Access) and Microsoft Windows.
  • Demonstrated ability to adjust priorities and workload as needs arise. Work independently while ensuring timely communication.
